Ringing Anvil Design
Herman Doty
Blacksmith Artist
Oregon

The forge is hot and I'm hammering out some fantastic creations!

Using a combination of traditional Blacksmith skills, modern welding methods, engineering techniques, and a whole bunch of other skills the artist has accumulated over the years, He's living his dream!  He's creating!

Lighting coal, burning propane, and heating things up since 1982.

25 years later and still hammering iron!

"With every sunrise I'm learning and creating something new"

"It appears that my metal art is taking me in fabulous directions"

"I have come to an interesting point in my life.  A uniques series of events starting with my spiritual journey since my battle with cancer"

"It has taken a long time to reach this path of objective art and I feel like a newborn infant"

WOW!  Look what's New!

Using Blacksmith equipment handed down by the artists great grandfather!

That's him in the picture below, swinging the hammer on the same anvil that is used in our studio!  He carried it along with his other equipment and family to Colorado by covered wagon from Oklahoma via Kansas over 100 years ago. It took almost a year!

It has found its home thanks to the wonderful art and community spirit in the great state of Oregon.
